Day Four

Today was pretty uneventful and also for the most part not as bad as I expected four days out of surgery. I bumped all of my exercises up (reps and degrees of flexion). It seems like all I do all day are exercises, but that's fine because I don't have much else to do. The pain meds make me fuzzy and I'm constantly questioning what day and time it is. The most pain I'm having right now is behind my knee on the inside (I'm sure because of the foam block stretching/ straightening exercise) and also on my quad above my knee and toward the outside of my leg. Can you picture that? This quad pain is driving me nuts- at certain times I am sure heat is radiating from that spot. It really aches quite a bit of the time and also twitches...the outside of my knee also twitches sometimes too...I am going to have to do some research to see if this is normal.
On a positive (and non injury related) note: I was just lying here thinking about how great my family and friends are. My parents have been incredibly supportive- not only did I move back in with them for the short-term but they are constantly checking on me and helping me with my ice and exercises. I have never been stuck in bed for an extended period of time before, so I have never experienced the kind of caring that good friends exhibit in times like these. I love, love, love all the Facebook messages, texts and voicemails that I seem to get all day long!! It is incredible how much my mood changes when friends come to visit. It makes all the difference in the world to a girl who is pretty much confined to one floor of her parents' house. So in case I haven't expressed it to you: Thanks friends and family for being the best ever!!!!
